Financial education programmes

Our Programmes

Three programmes for three distinct chapters of financial life

Each Morpho Studio programme is designed for a specific moment โ€” not as a general introduction to personal finance, but as a focused engagement with the questions that actually arise at that stage.

ยง 01 โ€” Our Approach

How our programmes are designed

Each programme runs across multiple sessions rather than a single meeting. This is deliberate: financial understanding deepens when people have time to apply what they have learned between sessions and return with the follow-up questions that arise from doing so.

Our facilitators use real documents where possible โ€” actual payslips, EPF statements, account summaries โ€” rather than abstract worked examples. Participants come away understanding their own specific situation, not a generic version of it.

All content is built around Malaysian financial structures: EPF accounts, LHDN tax reliefs, licensed unit trusts, local account types, and the DuitNow payment ecosystem. We do not use international frameworks that require translation or adaptation to the local context.

Sessions are kept small โ€” four to six participants for the First Paycheck Programme, one couple or one household for the other two. This is not a cost constraint; it is how the programmes work best.

ยง 02 โ€” Programme I

First Paycheck Programme

First Paycheck Programme

A three-session programme for young adults who have recently started earning โ€” covering the practical realities of Malaysian working life that most people figure out slowly and imperfectly on their own. The content is delivered at an unhurried pace in a small-group format and concludes with a printed workbook and a month-by-month checklist for the first year.

What is covered

  • How the Malaysian EPF system works from a contributor's perspective
  • Income tax calculation and LHDN filing for first-time filers
  • Current vs savings accounts โ€” which to use and how
  • Opening a first unit trust investment account
  • Setting up a modest automated saving habit

How it runs

01

Session one: EPF and payslip literacy โ€” understanding your deductions and contributions from the first month

02

Session two: Tax basics and bank accounts โ€” LHDN filing, PCB, zakat, and choosing the right account structure

03

Session three: Beginning to invest and save โ€” first unit trust account, automated saving setup, and year-one checklist review

RM 560 per participant

Couples Money Conversations

Couples' Money Conversations

A structured series of three conversations for partners who want to align on how they handle money together โ€” whether newly cohabiting, recently married, or simply revisiting shared financial decisions after a change in circumstances. The sessions are led by a single facilitator and focus on creating genuine dialogue between both people rather than delivering a plan to one of them.

What is covered

  • Joint and separate account arrangements โ€” which structure works for which couple
  • Transparent budgeting approaches for two incomes
  • Shared saving goals โ€” how to define and track them together
  • Handling differences in income and spending habits with candour
  • Writing a short shared agreement to refer back to

How it runs

01

Conversation one: Mapping your current picture โ€” incomes, accounts, habits, and what each person cares about most

02

Conversation two: Structures and systems โ€” account arrangements, budgeting methods, and how to handle differences honestly

03

Conversation three: Looking ahead together โ€” shared goals, savings targets, and drafting your written agreement

Conducted in person at the Petaling Jaya studio or online.

RM 1,950 per couple

ยง 04 โ€” Programme III

Long-Horizon Planning Engagement

Long-Horizon Planning Engagement

A four-month engagement for individuals and households thinking about the decades ahead. The engagement is paced to allow genuine reflection between sessions โ€” clients bring questions forward as they arise rather than receiving a completed plan at the end of one meeting. It concludes with a concise written document summarising current position, considered trade-offs, and a set of small steps for the next twelve months.

What is covered

  • Retirement sequencing โ€” EPF withdrawal options and timing considerations
  • Building a non-EPF investment base โ€” unit trusts, bonds, cash equivalents
  • Insurance and legacy arrangements โ€” what to consider and when
  • Gradual lifestyle adjustments that align with long-term goals
  • A written plan to conclude the engagement

How it runs

01

Month one: Current position โ€” reviewing assets, EPF balances, existing insurance, income trajectory, and what matters most over the long term

02

Month two: Investment and savings landscape โ€” options outside EPF, risk considerations, and how to assess what is appropriate

03

Month three: Insurance and legacy โ€” reviewing coverage, considering needs, and understanding the decisions involved

04

Month four: Written plan review โ€” presenting the summary, working through the next-twelve-months steps, and closing questions

Suited to clients who want considered reflection rather than a quick prescription. Staged payment available โ€” ask when enquiring.

RM 3,950 per household
